It’s Pearl Farm, Baby!

Warning: This may turn out to be a travel blog entry so have patient reading;-) More photos in my multiply

After a very long wait, I finally got to have a short vacation with Brandon in Pearl Farm Samal Beach Resort! I’ve been to Samal island but because of work and it was my first time in that particular resort. I already posted pictures in my multiply not a long time ago but I haven’t really thought of writing about it coz the pleasure I felt during my stay was beggaring description. But as I was tidying up a clutter of writings I have in my laptop, I saw this Q&A I had written for a certain friend finder site. “What’s your dream vacation?” – In Baguio, Dakak, Pearl Farm. It caught my attention and I realized that most of the wishes I write with intent or not comes out to possibilities. Also, I bet my boyfriend won’t remember this but I said I want him for my birthday when he asked me what gift I want.

So, this is one of them. I shouldn’t let another day pass without writing about a little yet expensive wish that a little Catea asked. :p Well, I didn’t really worry paying, lol.

Nevertheless…

While waiting for the boat. In a boat.

It takes about 45 minutes to get to Pearl Farm Beach Resort in Samal by boat and they have the regular boat transfer schedule (From Davao Marina Wharf to Resort ETD 0800/1330/1600/1800H From Resort to Davao Marina Wharf ETD 0645/1000/1300/1600H). In our case, we supposed to take the 1:30 pm boat but adjusted it to 3:30 pm coz PAL called us to get Brandon’s baggage that was left in L.A.:D While we were in the boat, it feels like we’re different delegates from different countries. I, for example was with my New Yorker boyfriend, there were also a couple of Filipinas with white people, a Korean family and a few locals. Beside me was a Filipina and I’ve been thinking that I knew her. And lately I remembered she was a co-model in 'Ragnarok:Tale of Two Cities -Amatsu and Kunlun' together with my friend Tina who happened to be working in Marco Polo where we also stayed. Haayy, coincidence. Anyway, we we’re greeted with ethnic music background like a part of a royalty household when we arrived. I know Boracay got beautiful white sand but Pearl Farm's atmosphere is incomparable. Not crowded, no bars, not ideal for guy-vacationers who are looking for girls-tanning-topless, and not great for girls who like to glance at half naked men and their butts.:D Pearl Farm is simply just a best place to get intimate and think. It is a best place for people who’s having a long distance relationship and wants to get together and have a vacation in a quiet place. It’s a paradise where one could say that the world is still a beautiful place to live in.

Our sweet suite

There are different cottages to choose from and we stayed in a Samal Suite. Cuddling with my boyfriend in the balcony is just too romantic to imagine. It costs $180 when we stayed and when I checked it recently, it's now $200/night. It's a Two-storey Muslim-inspired cottage Master`s bedroom with a king-sized bed and bathtub Lower room ( living room) may be converted into a children`s bedroom With sofa and trundle beds Two toilets and baths Can accommodate up to three (3) persons (4th person to be charged USD 35/night). (Info were taken from their website)

They serve Filipino and international cuisine and seafoods too! Their foods are appetizing and the buffet costs PHP600-800 per person while tropical fruit drinks costs about php50-90. They also have a room service but with additional 10% surcharge (if I’m not mistaken). If I were you, don’t be lazy and just go to their restaurant, lol. Being too lazy to walk can never be an excuse there coz they have a cab-for-free to get you where you want to go. And if you’re a culture enthusiast type of person, I’m sure you don’t want to miss their night entertainment which features different art form of Mindanao held in their restaurant. ;-) All of their staffs (from housekeepers to waiters) are respectful and friendly that they make me feel like a duchess of the island :D

Aside from their very good food, I love their water sports too! We got to ride a jet ski and it was our first time! Nothing beats the first time. ;-) Brandon was the one who drove (I wish I tried it too) and I love it when he drives slowly and suddenly drives fast! I can’t help but scream on top of my lungs. He didn’t really care coz he loves it and only cares for his rapturous delight, lol. Jetskiing is not like when I'm driving a motorbike. Riding a jet ski is like when you’re in a Ferris wheel, whenever the jet ski hits the wave, we bounce and i feel like our hearts and intestines are left in the air! No kidding! It costs more or less 2000 pesos for 30 minutes. My boyfriend really loved it that he even said he’d buy a jet ski. I’m not sure if he’s serious though, lol. I looked at its price in the internet, thinking I could surprise him one day and God it costs an arm and a leg! They also offer wind surfing, banana boat rides, kayaks and a lot more. If I had more money, I would have tried it again and all their water sports including scuba diving! I’m dying to try it once in my life. And I hope I don’t have my period when that time comes. :D

They also have a spa, conference room, game room and a tennis court where visitors can go to if you’re bored swimming and staying in your suites. But Brandon and I didn’t really see anyone interested playing but only ourselves alone. Haha! And nothing really interesting happened. ;-)

And the rest? Is history. :D There are some things that are better left unsaid, lol. Nahhh, I just won’t forget an experience happily shared with a person I love. Being in Pearl Farm is just a bonus. Sharing is a season of loving. This reminds me of a famous line of Cameron Diaz in What Happens in Vegas Movie, “What’s yours is mine, baby. Remember?!” Lol. I may sound corny but it’s really true. So thank you Brandon for making my dream vacation come true. Sa uulitin!

Be my Japanice...:-)
